This weekend I went to DogA the Norwegian center for design and architecture to see some amazing documentaries about design and advertisements. Ignorant people have told me that my occupation as designers is superficial and that a designer doesn’t have real impact on people’s life. Obviously this people couldn’t be more wrong, but I am so glad to see some movies about good design with some real substantial thoughts behind it. Check out Dutch Profiles- a series of short documentaries about architects and graphic, product and fashion designers in the Netherlands, commissioned by DutchDFA. Dutch Profiles focuses on the conceptual, context-oriented and research-based practice of Dutch designers, telling the story behind some of those well-known images. Enjoy!
