Love, love, love this redesign of Nestea Ice tea done by graphic designer Bob Dinetz. The redesign is based on use of simple color coded circle to make differentiating flavors as simple as possible. I am a bit unsure whether this is only a suggestion or if we will actually see this cool cans in the store soon, but I really hope we will! Ps. Also check out the post I wrote about Organa soft drinks a while back… kind of similar to this don’t you think?
A little while back I wrote a post about the fire extinguisher Act, and it seemed that several readers meant that a fire extinguisher should not be redesign… some commented that it should always be more than 50% red in order to be visible and recognizable. I really disagree and I’m therefore glad to once again bring up the topic. French-based Fire Design have made a series of new and modern decorations onto the classical fire extinguisher, for the price of 95 Euros. I believe that with the wide variety of colorful, playful and elegant extinguisher that Fire Design offers you to choose from, more people will be inspired to think about safety! (more…)
As you might know by now I love it when you can combine design with something fun; and what is more fun than a water park? I work as a trainee for Grid Design in Oslo and one of the projects I’ve been lucky enough to take part in is the new water park-project for Kristiansand Dyrepark. Today it was announced that the water park with the suiting name of ”Vannvittigland” (witch I have no idea how to translate to English… sorry), will open June next year! Here are some illustrations from Grid Design!
Don’t worry its not you that has a one-traced mind, but it’s the Russian designer Dima Loginoff. He wanted to create a lamp representing the masculine, and hey, who doesn’t want a pair of giant balls hanging in their living room? I am normally a big fan of Dimas Loginoff´s work, but I must say this is a bit to much for me…and what’s really interesting is that he actually won two international design awards for this! (more…)
The summer is almost over here in Norway, and rain is poring down and it’s again time to stay inside with a big cup of warm tea. So why not use these beautiful green-tea-bags designed by Nathalia Ponomareva from Russia? The tea bags are created by the principles of origami and while the tea infuses the bird or the shape is gradually expanding. A great example on how everyday objects can be transformed into a design object and maybe even make your day a little bit better!
