BioQ

chair

Q-melk is a Norwegian diary producer, who recently came out with a new series of cultured milk with fibers, BioQ. Anti design agency has done a great job making the design profile looking fresh and tasty. In an elegant way they’ve managed to create a packaging that will stand out on the shelf, and at the same time it communicates the flavors loud and clear. More pics after the jump! (more…)

The real packaging heroes

chair In January this year I wrote an article for Abitare magazine with my thoughts on what the packaging trends of 2010 would be. One of the trends that started to grow in 2009 was the importance of seeing the origin or the roots of your product in the label-design. Here is a great example of just that; Level Ground Trading is a Canadian company making Fare Trade products from different countries. Design agency Subplot helped them develop a packaging platform that takes my thoughts even further: the producer is the real hero. Celebrated with intimate, inviting photography “in situ”, the farmers grace innovative zip-locking, authentic kraft bags, with a label that declares Level Ground’s expertise and deep knowledge of the origins and taste profiles of each of their coffees. Nothing beats a good product, with good ideology and a great design! (more…)

5 O’Clock Chair

chair

I’m a huge fan of Slovenian designer Nika Zupanc, and when she gather up with furniture producer Moooi, it can’t be anything but amazing. The 5 O’Clock Chair was presented at Salone del Mobile this year, and the elegant design is based on Zupanc’s memories of retro furniture and English porcelain. The design itself might not be that revolutionary and different, but it is something with the shapes and lines on Nika Zupacs products that just stands out to me. More pictures of the 5 O’Clock Chair after the jump. (more…)

Weave Type

Following up on the post under, here is another mind-blowing work from Zim and Zou...This time they have created a font based on nails and threads. The thread that goes from each nail creates a beautiful woven surface; witch again gives shape to a beautiful letter. The font is soft and elegant, and I love that Zim and Zou has left it a bit uneven… the round letters are not perfect and that is exactly what makes them interesting. It also shows the handcraft behind this project, and it really gives each letter its on personality. More pics after the jump!
