Free fonts from the fontfabric

chair

I am a sucker for free design stuff- so I thought “why not share this great font site with you!” Fontfabric has a lot of really great fonts, some of them for sale, but a lot of them for free. Their fonts vary from very decorative to more text-friendly ones. After the jump you can see images of how my favorite fonts from the Fontfabric are used…or you can download them from here!

Weave Type

1298301275600874

Following up on the post under, here is another mind-blowing work from Zim and Zou...This time they have created a font based on nails and threads. The thread that goes from each nail creates a beautiful woven surface; witch again gives shape to a beautiful letter. The font is soft and elegant, and I love that Zim and Zou has left it a bit uneven… the round letters are not perfect and that is exactly what makes them interesting. It also shows the handcraft behind this project, and it really gives each letter its on personality. More pics after the jump!

Camila Drozd

LifeIt doesn’t happen vey often, but sometimes, like today, I stumble across some designworks that just takes my breath away and leaves me staring at a blank page, not knowing how to describe how amazing the design is! The portfolio of  Camila Drozd is filled with stunning works of  typographies, graphic designs and packaging’s were the typographies is the central element.  Its is fresh, feminine and beautiful, and the closest thing I come to describe how much I like this, is to say that this feels like porn for a design-geek like me!

Hyperactivi-typography from A to Z

hyper-01

Just the other day I received an email from Studio 3, an in-school design agency at the Graphic Design Department of Westerdals School of Communication in Oslo. They have made a really nice and fun activity book for typographers illustrated in a nostalgic vintage style to give it a sweet and childlike look. The book, called Hyperactivitypography from A to Z, is packed with activities, ranging from silly to hard core nerdiness. It’s great to test your skills on and to learn new things while having fun! Who said typography had to be stiff and boring? See more pics after the jump, flip through the whole book here or by a copy of it and have fun!

Type sex with Durex

Skjermbilde 2010-02-21 kl. 10.06.20Here’s another post about the unexpected use of typography. This time it’s a campaign to communicate the joy with Durex, made entirely out of words. I don’t think this is any wear near as well made and funny as the Durex-get it on campaign from last year, but it certainly is a fun use of typography. Made by German illustrator/designer Andrej Krahne. (more…)
