Kabbalah vodka – with Christian infants

000gzt0aAs I have said many times before; the designs I like the most are usually those that have serious thoughts behind them, and in one way or another makes some kind of a statement. Having said that I must admit I got a bit of mixed filings when I saw “Kabbalah vodka – with Christian infants”, the newest brand of Russian Vodka created by beverage maker EZ Protocols. The design is based on the old tales of how Jewish religious rites required the blood of Christian babies. I cant help to wonder whether a religious comment really is fitting (or necessary) for a commercial product?6a00d8345250f069e20120a9297ad0970b-550wi (more…)

Coop Design

Coop_kaffe_500g_250g.extralargeWhen I studied in Italy a couple of years ago, my teacher Giulio Iacchetti was one of the main designers behind the project Eureka for the big supermarket Coop, redesigning everyday objects and giving them a new value. Now that I have come back home to Norway I am happy to see that also the Coop chain here are using design as an important way to present their own lines of products. Over you see the new coffee packaging made by Grid Design and under is the packaging for almond potato made by Impuls.Skjermbilde 2010-03-07 kl. 09.11.42

Packaging for Stangeland Mølle

frokostbl_500x550Some things are quite difficult to explain to other than Norwegians, but I will give it a try: Stangeland Mølle is a producer of different types of flavors and 1-2-3 packs so that you easy can make food like Komle (a strange Norwegian dish of potato-balls), and Havrekjeks (oat biscuits) but also more traditional stuff like scones and muffins. A good friend of mine, Camilla Rosenlund, has together with Proconta agency done their new profile and packaging’s and I love the simple, clean and colorful look! alle_produktene

News from Mouse

Skjermbilde 2010-01-22 kl. 22.34.58Almost a year ago (wow time really does fly) I came across Mouse graphic agency from Greece, and I totally fell in love with their design, especially the design on the cement bags. Here are some of their latest packaging works, and they still impress me. Somehow they manage to balance their style between being modern with simple lines and bold letters, and a more romantic and rustic style.
