Here’s a little colour splash for you! This Packaging redesign was made by the Norwegian design duo Christian Schnitler and Are Kleivan, known as “The Metric System”. The packaging was made for Steen-Hansen, one of the oldest paint factories
in Norway (since 1932), based in Bergen. The design is colorful, simple and it clearly communicates color in a modern and elegant way. The design won the Visuelt award in 2009. (more…)

Ok, I must admit I know little or nothing about playing cards, and if you asked me to play poker I would probably loos all my money or all of my cloths in a heartbeat. BUT I do know good design, and this deck of playcards, designed by Hatch Design for Sentinels, is just stunning! The design is very detailed, and every single design element has a meaning behind it. The deck represents magic, the industry of deception, and the allied arts. The box is printed on imported paper 40% thicker than normal tuck cases – and has metallic accents on six sides. As you might know I work part time for a design agency called Grid Design. One of the cool thing about working there is that we work with brands that you can see everywhere around in the big cities or find in your local store (in Norway). Now Grid Design has done the redesign of the packaging for the well-known bread brand; Naturlig Sunt, from Bakers. The design is colourful and strong, and will definitely look good in the store shelves! More pics after the jump.

Not only do I like the name Mishmash, but I also like the light-hearted, hand-drawn design for the new sub-brand for Amelia Park Wines. It is fresh and playful, and although the drawing style is young and modern, it also has an ethnical vibe to it. The colours really differentiate the red from the white wine, and I love the little touch of gold which makes it look exclusive and sophisticated. Design by Glasfurd & Walker.
Here is a summery refreshment from the Norwegian design office Tank. They have made the packaging for the new cider from Mack. The cider is made on pure, natural ingredients and to reflect that, the design is made pure, fresh and modern. The colour code on the label, as well as the colour of the content, differentiate the flavours (peach & raspberry, apple, pear) in a simple and elegant way. This really looks like a refreshing (alcoholic) drink for long, hot summer nights…
