Shit! I just love it when design challenges our normal perception of a product, and in this case I believe these shoes are walking the thin line between art and design. The designer Andreia Chaves has made shoes into scupltures for your feet, like “The Invisible Shoe” with mirrored surface, creating a deceptively obscured optical effect with every step taken. I would almost say that I’m allergic when it comes to celebrity stuff. The only way to get me to raise an eyebrow is if its design involved. Usually I tend to get a little irritated when celebrities suddenly claim to be designers, but in this case I am kind of intrigued. Vendel Kirsebom is a Norwegian model and host for Top Model Norway. In the ´60s Adidas launched the “city-series” where one of the lucky cities to have their own design shoes was Oslo. Now the Oslo sneaker is back in a re-launched limited version, designed by the team behind Sole Service in collaboration with Permafrost. The classical Adidas signature-look is combined with a “dirty-white” symbolizing the dirty-city snow you can find in the streets of Oslo, with the funny text on the sole: “Welcome to Oslo, don’t eat the yellow snow” ! High up on my wish list these days is a pair of shoes from Julia Lundsten, the designer behind the exclusive shoe brand Finsk. Each pair of shoes are handmade from the finest leathers and woods in an atelier in Brazil, while still having a production process as ethical as possible using only bi-products from other leather industries. Her shoes are elegant and stylish and at the same time they are colourful and funky with a modern twist on the heels! (more…)
