It’s the end of 2009 and this will be my last post this year. It’s been an exiting year for Playmedesign… with Salone del mobile in Milan, becoming part of Carousel, and getting under the skin of Norwegian design. Playmedesign is looking forward to a new year that will be kicked of tomorrow with my first, of a series of articles, in the web edition of the magazine Abitare. Hopefully we’ll have a new logo in not to long and Carousel also have some exiting secrets that will be revealed in 2010. So Happy new year, stay tuned and don’t hesitate to send me your work!!

Its minus 20 degrees in Oslo today and nothing is more tempting than just staying at home, enjoying a hot cup of chocolate. Especially when it looks as delicate as this hotchocspoon from the Dutch Chocolate company. The hotchocspoons comes in 46 different and quite creative flavors… from strawberry and pink pepper to seaweed, 85% cocoa , or what about having one WITH a whisky or amaretto shot? A quick search on Behance can make you get Christmas spirit in just one second, seeing how designer interpret Christmas in different ways. Among my favorites are Sora The Winte Angel by Alberto Cerriteño and the funny Rainbeer by Karen Kurycki… more pictures after the jump!
Shit! I just love it when design challenges our normal perception of a product, and in this case I believe these shoes are walking the thin line between art and design. The designer Andreia Chaves has made shoes into scupltures for your feet, like “The Invisible Shoe” with mirrored surface, creating a deceptively obscured optical effect with every step taken. The chameleon-like façade blends in perfectly with any environment. See more of her amazing design after the jump! (more…)
