The diamond baseball bat

I stumbled over this beautiful baseball bat at an exhibition at Galleri F15 (Moss, Norway). With diamonds covering either the barrel or the handle the two bats are part of an art-installation called “it’s a boring day” by the Norwegian artist Lars Sture. The bats are laying on wool in each their wooden box, and maybe I have just seen to many violent movies but it gives me the association to a mix between a jewelry box and a weapon container.

A sport equipment turning in to a weapon, that again turns into a luxury object and a jewelry. Diamonds are a girl’s best friends, but I bet that it will hurt a lot more being hit with it.

Even though I love everything that sparkles I cant help but to feel a bit conflicted about this art piece, and I guess that’s the meaning!

Graphical skateboard love

Cookie Factory have over the last months had an exhibition of skateboards with some real nice graphics! The exhibition, called “till Death Do Us Part” was shown in Aalbaorg and Chopenhagen and the skateboards were at the same time auctioned on Ebay. The skateboards were designed by different artist, including legendary skateboard artists Jim Philips and Randy Laybourne, and there were only ONE of each boars. Take a look!

My cup of tea

I am not a big coffee drinker, but I do enjoy a good cup of tea. And although it’s old news I have to give some credit to the tea label Tea Forte for their excellent designs and teas. Not only does the tea in it self taste good, but with every little element well designed it becomes a hole new experience having a cup. Everything from the exhibitions of the flavors, the cup it gets served in, the packaging of each tea-proportion and finally the silk bag with the tea, is so thought trough and beautiful! Just my cup of tea!

Stolen jewels…

No, I am not using low res pictures! The designers Mike and Maaike, googled the worlds most precious and valuable jewelry, took the low resolution images and then transferred them on leather. I was so amazed by this project- maybe it’s because I just finished my thesis on a jewelry project- I don’t know- I just really liked the concept a lot.
