I am not a graphic designer but I really do appreciate good illustrations and graphic design. I am no expert, but sometimes I think its almost easier not to be. You can just judge a picture or an illustration based on your immediate response and feelings. And my feeling for the work of Ted Mcgarth is just so good! Not only does he show us his amazing typographies and illustrations on his site, but he actually invites us to take a look at his sketchbook as well. It can’t get more personal than that… just take a look!

It’s summer and time to invite friends over for gossip and a good cup of tee and maybe a piece of cake. And what better way to make a cute and fun table than to decorate it with the Flower series by Thora Breidfjord. Inspired from the dull old baking forms that you usually can find in your grandmothers kitchen drawer, she has transformed them into handmade porcelain dishes and bowls, each one bearing the name of the flower on which its shape is based!

This is just amazing, and it couldn’t be a better time to say “I’m blown away”! Johannes Hemann has actually made a balance between casual shapes and controled design. He has created a series of products all made with the help of storms! Not natural storms, but small energy-generated storms, that blows materials together, so that it sticks and creates a shape. The results are some really beautiful products, which you can see here if you just press more…

My third and final year at Istituto Marangoni in Milan is coming to an end. Soon i will have my diploma and can call myself a real fashion-designer!
