Lovely graphics

To get inspiration, I like to stroll around the world wide web, and this time a fantastic graphic designer gave me a boost. Her name is Hanneke Treffers, an Amsterdam-based freelance designer with a photograpic and illustrating background. I really love her style!

“I love to experience the moment when an image or artwork literally under my hand appears and how that surprises me. Mostly I know which feeling or atmosphere the artwork must have, but I don’t know exactly what or how it must be. That’s what I love; the surprise of life!”

SØLVE SUNDSBØ

As a fashion- student, I go trough a lot of magazines looking for inspiration. One of my favorite is Numéro and for the march issue they have a editorial shoot by one of my favorite photographers, Sølve Sundsbø. He is a Norvegian based in London, and his list of work is impressive. Top magazines, like Pop, i-D, Dased and Confused and Vouge, use him as a regular contributor, and the list of high profile clients is loooong. To name a few, there is Yves Saint Laurent, Hermes, Nike and Mac cosmetics. Other thing he has done are the album covers for Royksopp and Coldplay.
This editorial that he did for Numéro is a good example of the mysterious atmosphere he creates.

Vintage-shopping in New York

One of the first things I wanted to do on my short stop in New York, was vintage-shopping. So my friends recommended me this flea-market in Hell’s Kitchen. We wen’t there, and even though the weather was really bad- it had just rained, and it was freezin’ cold- a couple of vendors were still there. I found some great stuff- and it didn’t cost a lot either (around 10-15 dollars for lamps, vases etc.).

If you’re ever going to NY, check it out: http://www.hellskitchenfleamarket.com

MoMA

Being in New york = visiting MoMA!
There is so much great stuff, and in the design department espescially, I found a lot of beautiful new and classical design objects. Since I live in Italy, I found it interesting (but of course obvious) that the design classic-room was filled with italians;)

I took a lot of pictures- check them out.

General exhibition:

sculpture made from cardboard

sculpture made of eggshells

Picasso

Andy Warhol (above and under)

(my personal favorite)
